12 Month IPTV Subscription: When the Annual Plan Really Saves Money
A 12 month IPTV subscription costs $79 before tax for one screen with us, which works out to $6.58 a month. That is also our lowest monthly rate for one screen. However, it is only the cheapest choice if you will really watch for 10 months or more on one screen, or 8 months or more on 2 to 4 screens. Below that, a shorter plan costs less.
We run IPTV Canada (iptvv.ca) and set these prices ourselves, so every number here is our own. This guide shows the real math for each plan: the cost per month and per screen, the exact point where the annual plan wins, Quebec totals with tax, and how renewal works. It also covers what to do before you pay for a full year.
How Much Does a 12 Month IPTV Subscription Cost?
Our 12 month plan costs $79 for one screen, $129 for two, $179 for three and $199 for four, all in CAD and before tax. So the yearly price rises with the number of screens, while the cost per screen drops.
| Screens | 12 months (before tax) | Per month | Per screen, per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | $79 | $6.58 | $6.58 |
| 2 | $129 | $10.75 | $5.38 |
| 3 | $179 | $14.92 | $4.97 |
| 4 | $199 | $16.58 | $4.15 |
So for one screen, that is about 22 cents a day. Also, every plan length includes the same service: 25,000+ live channels, 120,000+ movies and series, and 4K where available. In other words, the length changes the price, not what you get. Before you order, check the current prices on our pricing page.
What Do 1, 3, 6 and 12 Month Plans Cost Side by Side?
In short, the longer the plan, the less each month costs. For example, on one screen, the monthly price falls from $19 on the 1 month plan to $6.58 on the 12 month plan.
| Plan length | 1 screen | 2 screens | 3 screens | 4 screens |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 month | $19 | $29 | $39 | $49 |
| 3 months | $29 | $49 | $69 | $89 |
| 6 months | $49 | $89 | $119 | $129 |
| 12 months | $79 | $129 | $179 | $199 |
All prices are in CAD, before tax. So per month, one screen costs $19 on the 1 month plan, $9.67 on 3 months, $8.17 on 6 months and $6.58 on 12 months.
The gap looks large, especially if you compare the extremes. Paying month by month for a year on one screen adds up to $228. The 12 month plan costs $79, so you keep $149. That said, few people compare those two. Instead, the real question is whether the annual plan beats a 6 month or 3 month plan for the time you will actually watch. For a wider view of prices across the market, see our guide to IPTV cost in Canada.
When Does a 12 Month IPTV Subscription Become the Cheapest Option?
With one screen, the annual plan is the cheapest way to watch from 10 months of use. But with 2, 3 or 4 screens, it already wins from 8 months. Below those points, though, a mix of shorter plans costs less.
For example, on one screen, a 6 month plan plus a 3 month plan costs $78 and covers 9 months. That is $1 less than the annual plan. So if you know you will stop after 9 months, the 12 month plan is not the best deal, even if it looks like one.
| Months you will watch | 1 screen | 2 screens | 3 screens | 4 screens |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 7 months | $68 (6 + 1) | $118 (6 + 1) | $158 (6 + 1) | $178 (6 + 1) |
| 8 months | $78 (6 + 3) | $129 (12) | $179 (12) | $199 (12) |
| 9 months | $78 (6 + 3) | $129 (12) | $179 (12) | $199 (12) |
| 10 to 12 months | $79 (12) | $129 (12) | $179 (12) | $199 (12) |
The table shows the cheapest combination for each case, before tax. Multi-screen plans reach the turning point sooner. That is because, for them, adding a 3 month plan to a 6 month plan costs more than stepping up to the full year. For example, with two screens, 6 + 3 months costs $138, while the full year costs $129.

If you end up watching longer than planned, the annual plan already covers the extra months. For instance, if you plan for 8 months and end up watching 11, the year was the better buy. Therefore, when you are unsure, round your estimate up rather than down.
What Does a 12 Month IPTV Subscription Cost in Quebec With Tax?
In Quebec, the one screen annual plan costs $90.83 with tax. Our prices are before tax, and checkout adds the tax for your province. Quebec buyers pay 5% GST plus 9.975% QST, so the total tax is 14.975%.
| Screens | Before tax | GST 5% | QST 9.975% | Total in Quebec |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | $79.00 | $3.95 | $7.88 | $90.83 |
| 2 | $129.00 | $6.45 | $12.87 | $148.32 |
| 3 | $179.00 | $8.95 | $17.86 | $205.81 |
| 4 | $199.00 | $9.95 | $19.85 | $228.80 |
For comparison, 12 single months on one screen would cost $21.85 each in Quebec, so $262.20 for the year. Outside Quebec, your own provincial rate applies, and you see the exact total before you confirm.
In Quebec, consumer protection rules spell this out. The Office de la protection du consommateur lists the information a merchant must give you before you buy online, including the price, fees, applicable taxes and the total cost. If a seller hides the total until after payment, take that as a warning sign.
Does a 12 Month Plan Renew Automatically?
No. Renewal is manual, so nothing is charged automatically when your 12 months end. If you want to continue, you renew it yourself, at the price shown at renewal time.
This works in your favour in two ways. First, you never get a surprise charge on a plan you forgot about. Second, you choose the length again at each renewal. For instance, you can take a year now and a 6 month plan next time if your plans change.
The trade-off is simple, though: if you do nothing, the plan ends. So put a reminder in your calendar a week before the end date. Also, we do not promise future prices. In other words, the price you pay at renewal is the one on the pricing page that day.
The payment options are shown at checkout. For the full order process, step by step, read how to buy IPTV in Canada.
Why Are Lifetime IPTV Offers a Red Flag?
A lifetime IPTV offer asks you to pay once for a service that costs money to run every single month. That math does not work for long, which is why we treat lifetime deals as a warning sign, not a bargain.
Think about what a stream needs. Servers, bandwidth, guide data and a support team all cost money every month, for every viewer. A one-time payment covers those costs for a while. After that, the seller either needs money from new buyers to keep serving the old ones, or the service fades away.
In practice, “lifetime” often means the lifetime of the seller, not yours. Also, there is no fixed term you can hold the seller to. That is why our longest plan is 12 months: long enough to get the lowest monthly rate, short enough that we have to keep earning your renewal.
So if someone pressures you to pay quickly for a lifetime deal, step back. Our guide on whether IPTV is safe in Canada also covers how to spot an unsafe seller. In addition, the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre has an index of common frauds and a link to report one.
Who Should Pick the Annual Plan, and Who Should Not?
The annual plan suits a household that has tested the service and plans to keep it most of the year. However, a shorter plan is smarter if your viewing is seasonal or your setup is still changing.
A 12 month IPTV subscription makes sense if:
- you already tested the service at home, on the devices you will use;
- you will watch at least 10 months on one screen, or 8 months on 2 to 4 screens;
- you know how many screens your household needs at the same time.
On the other hand, pick 3 or 6 months if:
- you mostly watch during one sports season of about 6 months;
- you are moving soon and do not know your next internet connection yet;
- you are still deciding between one screen and several.
Before you commit, check your screen count too. Our guide to IPTV on multiple devices helps you pick the right number. Also, if price is your main concern, our page on cheap IPTV in Canada explains what each price tier really buys.
How Do You Choose the Right Plan Length Without Guessing?
Test first, then decide the length. Our free trial lasts 24 hours, needs only an email address and no credit card, so you can check the service on your own screens before you pay for a year.
- First, start the trial and set it up with our installation guide.
- Watch during a busy evening, since that is when your home internet works hardest.
- Then try the channels and movies your household actually watches.
- After that, count the screens that will run at the same time.
- Count the months you will really watch, then use the table above to pick the cheapest length.
Since a trial lasts 24 hours, you can judge picture quality, stability and the channel list on your own connection. Our page on the IPTV free trial in Canada explains what to test in those 24 hours. After that, a 12 month IPTV subscription is an easy choice, or an easy one to skip.
12 Month IPTV Subscription: FAQ
Is a 12 month IPTV subscription worth it?
It is worth it if you will watch for most of the year. On one screen, the annual plan is the cheapest option from 10 months of use, and from 8 months on 2 to 4 screens. Below that, however, shorter plans cost less: on one screen, 6 + 1 months costs $68 for 7 months, and 6 + 3 months costs $78 for 9 months.
How much is IPTV per year in Canada?
With us, a year costs $79 for one screen, $129 for two, $179 for three and $199 for four, in CAD and before tax. In Quebec, the one screen plan comes to $90.83 once GST and QST are added at checkout.
What happens when my 12 month IPTV subscription ends?
Nothing is charged automatically, because renewal is manual. When the 12 months are over, the plan ends unless you renew it yourself. You then pay the price shown at renewal time and pick whichever length suits you.
How many screens can a 12 month IPTV subscription cover?
Our 12 month plans cover 1, 2, 3 or 4 screens at the same time. The cost per screen drops as you add screens, from $6.58 a month with one screen to $4.15 a month per screen with four, before tax.
Can I switch from a monthly plan to a yearly plan later?
Yes. Because renewal is manual, you choose the length every time you renew. So you can start with a short plan, then move to the 12 month plan once you know the service works well in your home.
Do you sell lifetime IPTV plans?
No. Our longest plan is 12 months. A service that costs money to run every month cannot honestly be sold for a single payment forever, so we see lifetime offers as a red flag rather than a deal.
